
ArmInfo. Armenia is participating in the 114th Session of the International Labour Conference in Geneva, joining representatives from the 187 member states of the International Labour Organization (ILO).
This year's agenda centers on key global labor challenges, including the strategic integration of artificial intelligence (AI) to ensure decent work, advancing gender equality in employment, and strengthening social dialogue.
The Armenian delegation is led by Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Lusine Kocharyan, alongside Helen Manaseryan, Chairperson of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Armenia; Vahagn Hambardzumyan, President of the Republican Union of Employers of Armenia; and Liana Tovmasyan, Deputy Head of the Unified Social Service.
In her speech, Lusine Kocharyan emphasized that the Republic of Armenia, while remaining committed to its values and principles, continues to take necessary steps to protect workers' rights and effectively implement the sustainable employment and In her address to the conference, Deputy Minister Kocharyan reaffirmed Armenia's commitment to core ILO values, emphasizing the country's ongoing efforts to protect workers' rights and advance sustainable employment and decent work agenda. She noted that Armenia's current labor reforms are designed to build a fair, balanced system that simultaneously protects the interests of both employers and employees.
Kocharyan also highlighted that Armenia is actively reviewing its legislative framework governing employers and trade unions to foster robust social partnerships at all levels. Key initiatives highlighted in her speech included the creation of inclusive work environments, the digitalization of employment contracts, and targeted programs to boost employment for persons with disabilities and citizens over the age of 63.
