ArmInfo.Non-cash payments in January-April maintained the same dynamics as last year, demonstrating double-digit growth. This was stated by Eduard Hakobyan, Chairman of the State Revenue Committee (SRC), during a meeting of the parliamentary standing committee on economic issues on June 10.
According to him, during the specified period, non-cash payments increased by 18% in terms of quantity, and by 11% in terms of revenue. Taking into account the amount of transactions on e-commerce platforms, the increase in quantity was 51%, and in value terms, 31%. According to Hakobyan, this trend is being driven by government reforms, the introduction of cashback systems, including for pensioners, and certain restrictions imposed to regulate e-commerce. "Thanks to incentive measures, people have come to understand that cashless payments are more convenient and beneficial, as they allow them to receive certain returns and use them for other expenses," the head of the State Revenue Committee said.
By the end of 2025, Hakobyan stated, over 50% of transactions in the Armenian economy were conducted through cashless payments.
