ArmInfo. GAIFF Pro, the production platform of the Golden Apricot International Film Festival, has announced a new workshop dedicated to the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in cinema. Organized in partnership with the Lumiverse platform, the AI Filmmaking Workshop aims to bridge the gap between traditional filmmaking and cutting-edge technology.
"Artificial intelligence continues to transform the global entertainment and creative industries," the festival's press service stated. "This new GAIFF Pro initiative provides film industry professionals with the opportunity to gain practical knowledge and master modern workflows under the guidance of leading experts."
The workshop will run from July 13 to 15, concluding with a special screening on July 16. Participants will work with AI experts Vahan Setoyan and Lilit Barseghyan. Unlike purely theoretical programs, this workshop emphasizes direct participation in the creative process. Over the course of three days, participants will be tasked with transforming a provided script into a short film, utilizing professional AI-powered tools and software. The final work will be presented on July 16 at GAIFF Pro.
"Projects created with the help of artificial intelligence and AI-based workflows are already an integral part of our industry," said Nare Leone Ter-Gabrielyan, Director of GAIFF Pro. "Rather than ignoring these changes, we must find ways to ethically and effectively integrate new technologies into filmmaking. This workshop offers the exact hands-on experience needed to do so." The program is designed exclusively for established film industry professionals, including directors, producers, cinematographers, and editors.
Recall, established in 2004 by Harutyun Khachatryan, Mikael Stamboltsyan, and Susanna Harutyunyan, the Golden Apricot International Film Festival is widely considered one of the most prestigious film events in the region. Currently led by Director and Artistic Director Karen Avetisyan, the festival's upcoming edition will take place from July 12 to 19.
