
ArmInfo. The Government of Armenia has approved the signing of an agreement "On the Mutual Recognition of Academic Degrees in the Member States of the Eurasian Economic Union." The decision was made at a Cabinet meeting on June 18.
The rationale for the draft resolution notes that the document was developed by the Eurasian Economic Commission in accordance with the Treaty "On the Eurasian Economic Union," signed on May 29, 2014.
According to the agreement, academic degrees and academic titles are recognized in the country of employment in accordance with individual international treaties concluded within the Eurasian Economic Union. The draft document aims to promote the mutual recognition of academic degrees in the context of labor migration for the purpose of pursuing professional activities in accordance with the academic degree awarded in the country of employment.
The document establishes the criteria for awarding academic degrees, the basic principles for recognizing academic degrees, the application of national procedures for recognizing academic degrees, the procedure for verifying the authenticity of academic degrees and providing information, the procedure for exchanging information on the recognition of academic degrees, etc.
The conclusion of the agreement will create favorable conditions for citizens of the Eurasian Economic Union member states by eliminating exceptions and restrictions in the area of labor migration in the recognition of academic degrees, thereby ensuring citizens' access to professional activities.
