ArmInfo. Starlink has donated another 56 satellite internet terminals to the government of Armenia to bolster internet connectivity during emergency situations, as announced by RA Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan.
"As a result of negotiations between the Ministry and the American company Starlink, the RA government received 56 devices donated by Starlink to prepare for possible future emergencies. The devices are intended to provide reliable, high-speed internet connections to ensure effective responses during natural disasters and other emergency scenarios. This initiative was implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of High-Tech Industry and the Ministry of Internal Affairs," Hayrapetyan wrote on his Facebook page.
According to him, all 56 devices are already in Armenia and are slated to be transferred to the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the needs of the Rescue Service.
They will enhance communication resilience during rescue operations, natural disasters, and crises, particularly in situations where traditional communication infrastructure is limited, overloaded, or damaged.
Note, Starlink is the world's most advanced satellite constellation, operating in low Earth orbit, providing reliable, high-speed broadband internet to millions of users worldwide. This donation serves as a continuation of the ongoing partnership between Starlink and the Armenian government. Previously, 110 Starlink terminals were provided to the country, which are currently being used to provide internet access to students in schools located in Armenia's remote and hard-to-reach communities.
