
ArmInfo. Armenian Ambassador to France, Arman Khachatryan, met with Regis Froden, Director of International Products for the Carrefour retail chain, to discuss the potential for importing and marketing Armenian products in the French market, specifically through the Carrefour network.
According to the press service of the Armenian Embassy in France, the parties exchanged views on the competitiveness of Armenian food and other goods, the preferences of French consumers, and the criteria and procedures necessary for market entry.
Mr. Froden outlined the operational specifics of Carrefour, the company's processes for supplier selection and product importation, as well as the quality and commercial standards required by the retail chain. Ambassador Khachatryan emphasized the importance of developing cooperation with major French retail networks as a key factor in expanding Armenia's export potential and increasing the international visibility of Armenian products.
Both sides expressed their commitment to continuing the dialogue and exploring potential avenues for collaboration to facilitate a broader presence of Armenian goods on the French market.
Carrefour is a French multinational retail corporation that operates a network of 12,000 retail outlets across 30 countries in Europe, Brazil, Argentina, North Africa, and Asia. Its headquarters are located in Massy, France. Carrefour has been operating in Armenia since 2015.
As of July 2015, the Moulin family has been the largest shareholder of Carrefour, holding an 11.5% stake; the family also owns the Galeries Lafayette department store chain. Since 2016, the Brazilian Diniz family has held an 8.8% stake. The Chairman and CEO of Carrefour is Alexandre Bompard.
