FLYONE Armenia modernizes its fleet with next-generation engines - a  memorandum of understanding signed with CFM International

ArmInfo.  FLYONE Armenia has signed a memorandum of understanding with CFM International, one of the world's leading aircraft engine manufacturers. The document  provides for the purchase of four LEAP-1A engines.

According to the airline's press service, the memorandum was signed  by FLYONE Armenia CEO Aram Khachatryan and CFM International  management representatives on the sidelines of the Farnborough  International Airshow 2026.

This agreement is another important step in the implementation of  FLYONE Armenia's fleet modernization and long-term development  strategy. LEAP-1A engines are designed for the next-generation Airbus  A320neo family of aircraft and are considered one of the most  efficient and technologically advanced solutions in the global  aviation industry.

The use of these engines will significantly reduce fuel consumption,  carbon dioxide emissions, and noise levels, while simultaneously  increasing the reliability and operational efficiency of the  aircraft.

In this regard, Aram Khachatryan noted that LEAP-1A engines set an  international standard for efficiency, reliability, and environmental  responsibility in the aviation industry. "We are proud to expand our  partnership with CFM International and continue to invest in the  development of our future fleet. This investment demonstrates our  commitment to the long-term development of FLYONE Armenia, our  confidence in the future of Armenian civil aviation, and our desire  to provide our passengers with even safer, more comfortable, and more  modern services," he noted.

According to the source, LEAP-1A engines reduce fuel consumption by  up to 20% compared to previous- generation engines; significantly  reduce CO2 emissions; reduce noise levels; and ensure high  operational reliability. Reduce overall maintenance and operating  costs.

The implementation of these technologies will allow FLYONE Armenia to  continue expanding its international route network, increase  competitiveness, and utilize the best technological solutions in the  aviation industry.

FLYONE Armenia is the leading airline in Armenia, operating scheduled  and charter flights to Europe, the Middle East, and the CIS. The  airline consistently invests in fleet modernization, improving  service quality, and expanding its international route network,  contributing to the development of air travel in Armenia.

CFM International, a joint venture between GE Aerospace and Safran  Aircraft Engines, is one of the world's leading manufacturers of  commercial aviation engines. The LEAP engine family is currently  considered one of the most efficient and innovative solutions for  next-generation aircraft, including the Airbus A320neo, Boeing 737  MAX, and COMAC C919.
