ArmInfo. Inspections at four Armenian enterprises have found no evidence of the use of milk from sick animals or raw materials imported from other countries.
This was announced by the press service of the Food Safety Inspection Body of Armenia (FSIB), citing the results of joint inspections conducted with Rosselkhoznadzor from July 14 to 21 at four Armenian enterprises, although the latter has not yet published its results.
According to the submitted documents, the raw materials used in production have undergone laboratory testing and have been certified as safe. "The Inspection Body consistently ensures compliance with the requirements established by regulatory legal acts in the field of food safety at all stages of food production," the statement reads.
The agency recalled that as part of its annual inspection program, as well as based on consumer complaints, the FSIB continuously carries out control measures at all dairy production enterprises operating in Armenia. In the event that non-compliance is identified following inspections, the regulatory agency suspends the production activities of the respective enterprise until the violations are eliminated, and hazardous batches of products are withdrawn from circulation and destroyed.
Recall, yesterday, Rosselkhoznadzor issued a statement revealing violations in Armenian dairy production involving traceability systems, the issuance of veterinary documentation for raw materials and finished goods, the conduct of veterinary and sanitary inspections of incoming raw materials, the operation of risk management systems, and the implementation of production control programs. The current inspection also revealed the use of milk from infected livestock in the production of products exported to Russia. Furthermore, inspections confirmed instances of the use of raw materials from third countries to produce high-fat products for the Russian market, despite previous assurances from the Armenian Veterinary Service regarding the use of domestic raw materials or raw materials from EAEU enterprises. Consequently, the agency imposed restrictions on the import of dairy products from Armenia to Russia.
