ArmInfo. Armenia's four largest telecommunications operators contributed 22.2 billion drams to the state treasury in the first half of 2026, marking an 8.8% year-on-year increase. According to data from the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia, this total included 9.4 billion drams in Value-Added Tax (VAT), 3.8 billion drams in personal income tax, and 2.7 billion drams in corporate income tax.
Viva Armenia maintains its leading position among the telecom operators, though it slipped from 11th to 19th place overall in the national taxpayer rankings. The company paid 10.4 billion drams to the state budget, comprising 3.9 billion in VAT, 2.4 billion in corporate income tax, and 1.2 billion in personal income tax.
UCom followed, advancing from 38th to 27th place overall after contributing 5.8 billion drams in taxes, which included 3 billion in VAT, 1.1 billion in personal income tax, and 59.6 million in corporate income tax.
Telecom Armenia (operating under the TEAM brand) moved up from 37th to 35th place, paying 4.8 billion drams to the state treasury, consisting of 1.9 billion in VAT, 1.1 billion in personal income tax, and 55.5 million in corporate income tax.
GNC-Alfa (operating under the OVIO brand) climbed to the 157th position from 219th a year earlier, contributing 1.2 billion drams in taxes, which included 550.8 million in VAT, 378 million in personal income tax, and 151 million in corporate income tax.
Combined, telecom operators account for 2% of the total tax payments generated by Armenia's 1,000 largest taxpayers.
Recall, on July 7, 2026, Viva Armenia CJSC announced the acquisition of shares in GNC Alfa CJSC, which operates under the Ovio brand.
Note, in the first half of 2025, the four major telecom operators reduced their tax payments to the state budget by 5.2% year-on-year, contributing a combined 20.4 billion drams (including 8.9 billion in VAT, 3.6 billion in personal income tax, and 2.8 billion in corporate income tax). At that time, Viva Armenia also led the sector in tax payments, followed by Telecom Armenia, UCom, and GNC-Alfa.
