The 10th Seaside Startup Summit Armenia 2026 kicked off on the shores of Lake Sevan on July 26, bringing together startups from around the world, investors, representatives of venture capital funds and technology companies, mentors, leading industry experts, and innovation ecosystem leaders.
This is the second year the event has been co-financed by the government. AMD 200 million was allocated from the state budget for its organization. During the opening ceremony, Armenian Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan noted that Seaside Startup Summit
Armenia has become a unique platform, uniting people driven by innovative ideas and shaping the tech community. "This isn't just a summit, but an environment where new ideas are born, partnerships are formed, and the technological solutions of the future are created," he emphasized, noting that this is also an important initiative for the government, given its continued support.
The minister expressed confidence that this is where new success stories will emerge, and that participants will leave Armenia and the Seaside Startup Summit Armenia 2026 not only with vivid memories but also with new partnerships, knowledge, and ambitious goals.
It's worth noting that approximately 200-300 tech startups are created in Armenia annually. Compared to 2017, the number of tech companies has grown 18.5 times, reaching 12,026 (by the end of 2025), the number of employees has increased 2.6 times, reaching 41,431, and the industry's turnover has increased 3.2 times, reaching approximately 1 trillion drams. At the same time, exports also increased significantly - by 5.2 times to 711.5 billion drams.
According to the Statistics Committee, Armenia's information and communications technology (ICT) sector grew by 8.4% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2026 (compared to 9% growth a year ago), generating revenue of 307 billion drams. Revenue from the IT sector alone amounted to 154 billion drams, an 8% increase compared to the same period a year ago.
