IMF highly praises forecasting and analysis system developed by  Armenia`s Ministry of Finance

ArmInfo. A delegation from the Armenian Ministry of Finance, led by Arshaluys Harutyunyan, Head of the Macroeconomic Policy Department, met with representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

During the visit, the parties reviewed the results of three years of  work on developing a semi-structured medium-term forecasting model  with the IMF technical support.

Additionally, the Ministry's Forecasting and Policy Analysis System  (FPAS)  was reviewed. IMF representatives highly praised the  system,  calling it a best practice that can serve as a model for other  countries. The visit concluded with the identification of future  areas of cooperation and agreements regarding the  institutionalization and public presentation of the developed model.

Note: The IMF has maintained its GDP growth forecast for Armenia for  2026 and 2027, expecting economic growth to slow to 5.3% in 2026—down  from 7.1% in 2025—before accelerating to 5.5% in 2027.
