Arman Barseghyan: Armenia`s capital market will continue to grow at a  rapid pace

ArmInfo. Armenia's capital market will continue to expand at a rapid pace, which will also be reflected in the country's economic development.

This forecast was shared by Arman Barseghyan, Ameriabank's Director of  Retail Banking, in response to a question from an ArmInfo  correspondent According to him, the current evolution of the capital  market is driven by increasing economic transparency, a steady  reduction of the shadow economy, and improved corporate  accountability over time.  "All of these are prerequisites for the  development of the capital market," Barsegyan emphasized.

He recalled that Ameriabank has also taken concrete steps toward  developing the capital market, having issued its first-ever perpetual  bonds in early 2026 and fully placing the $100 million issue by June.

Furthermore, Barseghyan noted that demand for capital market  instruments is growing organically alongside economic development.  "That is, as the economy develops and public incomes rise, a segment  emerges that possesses greater savings and is ready to invest in  various capital market instruments.  Naturally, demand generates  supply. An increasing number of companies are beginning to meet their  debt financing needs through corporate bonds, which drives market  growth," Barseghyan explained.

Recall, in June Ameriabank fully placed $100 million in perpetual  bonds—marking the company's inaugural issuance of such instruments.  The bonds were offered in two tranches, issued in February and April.  In both instances, the entire volume was placed ahead of schedule,  reflecting exceptionally high demand for these securities.

According to the Financial Rating of Armenian Banks as of March 31,  2026, prepared by ArmInfo Investment Company, Ameriabank leads in  corporate bond placements, achieving 24% annual growth and more than  doubling three-year growth. Ameriabank has also repeatedly acted as  an underwriter for corporate bond placements of private companies.  It's worth noting that Ameriabank, part of the international  financial group Lion Finance Group (LFG), was included in the FTSE  100 index of one of the world's leading exchanges in March 2026,  becoming the first company from Armenia to be listed among the 100  largest companies on the London Stock Exchange. Ameriabank's  inclusion in the FTSE 100 index of the London Stock Exchange (LSE) is  a bright green light for international investors, signaling the  opportunity to enter a high-quality market in a clear and predictably  managed environment.
