ArmInfo.The Armenian government approved a 1.128 billion dram budget loan to "Meridian Holding" during its August 13 session.
The project justification notes that, in line with international commitments, Armenia will host the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17) from October 19 to 30, 2026. UN experts have assessed the "Meridian" exhibition center as having the greatest potential to meet the standards required for the event.
To facilitate this, the State Property Management Committee and CJSC "Meridian Holding" signed a public procurement service contract on September 25, 2025. Preliminary estimates for the large-scale construction and installation work—which includes the demolition of two-apartment buildings and the construction and reconstruction of the facility to meet international standards—are valued at approximately 25 million US dollars.
