ArmInfo. Armenia's gross agricultural output in the first half of 2026 suffered a double-digit decline of 10.2% (versus 7.3% growth a year ago), reaching 345.1 billion drams. This is according to data from the RA Statistics Committee.
Excluding forestry and fisheries, i.e., the purely agricultural sector, declined by 11.9% (versus 7.3% growth a year ago) to 310.1 billion drams. This decline was largely driven by crop production, which contracted by 23.4% year-on-year (versus 13.4% growth a year ago), reaching 124.7 billion drams. The most significant declines in Armenia were in the melon harvest, which fell by 74.6% to 1,600 tons, followed by a 70.4% decline in grains, which dropped by 800 tons, and a 68.3% decline in fruits and berries, which dropped to 28,500 tons. Vegetable harvests declined less significantly, by 7.6% year-on-year to 94,600 tons, and potato harvests, which fell by 3.3% to 96,700 tons. Only flower harvests saw annual growth, down 7.9% to 119 million. The fisheries sector maintained growth, but slowed from 5.1% to 2.7%, generating AMD 32.8 billion. The catch tonnage for the first half of the year amounted to 13.8 thousand tons.
Forestry revenues increased by 34.9% year-on-year, but their absolute value was low – 2.1 billion drams.
The livestock sector, which dominates agriculture, decreased its volume by 2.5% (versus 3% growth a year ago), generating 185.3 billion drams.
