ArmInfo. The Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Armenia (UMBA) and the Van Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Van TSO) issued a joint statement on the normalization of relations, the opening of border crossings, and the development of economic cooperation.
The corresponding agreement was signed between the heads of UMBA and Van TSO in Yerevan during the visit of the Van CCI delegation from September 3-4.
As part of the program organized in Yerevan, 80 entrepreneurs representing Van TSO met with representatives of the Armenian business community. During the meetings, opportunities for mutual trade and investment were discussed, and prospects for joint work between the business communities of the two countries and the development of existing economic ties were assessed.
The Union's statement emphasized the importance of increasing trade between the two countries; Opening border crossings between Turkey and Armenia and facilitating mutual border crossings; improving transport links and more efficient use of existing communication routes; reciprocal visits of business representatives and increasing the number of bilateral B2B meetings; assessing opportunities for joint investment and production; strengthening cooperation in tourism, logistics, agriculture, the food and textile industries, other industrial sectors, and services; and establishing sustainable corporate communications between business representatives.
The SPP noted that Van could become a natural bridge for trade and logistics between Turkey and the Caucasus, and strengthening economic relations between Van and Yerevan will contribute to the development of regional trade and strengthen mutual understanding between the two peoples.
