ArmInfo. Hamlet Sahakyan has been appointed Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Armenia. The appointment was signed by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on September 7. The government's press service reported this.
According to another decision by Pashinyan, Hamlet Sahakyan was relieved of his post as First Deputy Chairman of the State Revenue Committee.
It should be noted that Hamlet Sahakyan was appointed First Deputy Chairman of the State Revenue Committee on March 20, 2024. Apparently, The new Deputy Minister of Finance will be responsible for the same functions as those assigned to one of the Deputy Ministers, Arman Poghosyan and Avag Avanesyan, who were previously dismissed by the Prime Minister.
In connection with the dismissal of his two deputies, Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan posted on social media: "Today we bid farewell to our dear friends, Arman Poghosyan and Avag Avanesyan, who are completing their tenure at the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Armenia. Avag and Arman are highly qualified leaders who have led their teams through numerous challenges over the years and made a significant contribution to the establishment and development of our department. I welcome Hamlet Sahakyan, with whom we will have the honor of working in this new phase." We have already worked together with Hamlet as Deputy Chairman of the State Revenue Committee, and I am confident that this step will not only increase the efficiency of the Ministry of Finance, but will also further improve cooperation between the Ministry of Finance and the State Revenue Committee. "Happy journey to all of us, dear ones."
