ArmInfo. According to data from the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), Turkey’s exports increased by 4 percent in January-August of this year compared with the same period last year—from $177.9 billion to $185 billion, Anadolu reports.
The report notes that the total volume of exports to the eight neighboring countries—Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Iran, Iraq, Syria and Greece—also increased during this period. Turkey’s exports to these countries grew by 2.6 percent, from 17 762 593 000 dollars to 18 226 225 000 dollars. Exports to Armenia during the same period amounted to $1 336 000, it is reported. Among the neighboring countries, the largest volume of exports in January-August was recorded to Iraq, amounting to 5 758 899 000 dollars. It was followed by Bulgaria with 3 439 040 000 dollars, Greece with 2 293 038 000 dollars, Georgia with 1 949 857 000 dollars, Syria with 1 675 429 000 dollars, Iran with 1 566 709 000 dollars and Azerbaijan with 1 541 916 000 dollars. Iraq, Bulgaria, Greece and Georgia stand out as Turkey’s largest export markets among its neighbors. The total volume of exports to these four countries reached $13.440 billion from January to August. Exports increased to five of the eight neighboring countries during this period, while they declined to three. Exports increased to Armenia, Georgia, Syria, Bulgaria and Iran, while they declined to Iraq, Greece and Azerbaijan.
