A delegation from the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia, led by Ashot Movsisyan, Head of the Investigative and Operational Intelligence Department, participated in the 25th session of the Coordinating Council of Heads of Tax (Financial) Investigative Bodies of the CIS Member States in Tashkent, dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Commonwealth of Independent States. Delegations from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the Russian Federation, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of the CIS Executive Committee, participated in the session, according to a statement from the State Revenue Committee.
During the session, the results of the work carried out during the Republic of Armenia's chairmanship of the Coordinating Council were summarized. The parties discussed issues of ensuring economic security, identifying new tax and financial crime schemes, combating the embezzlement of budget funds, applying modern financial investigation methods, and exchanging information and practical experience.
Ashot Movsisyan also presented the qualitative changes being implemented in management aimed at introducing new approaches to risk analysis, using digital tools, and identifying systematic tax violations.
On the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the CIS, the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia prepared a special video about the history and activities of the Coordination Council, which was shown for the first time in Tashkent during the 25th session of the Council.
The session concluded the Republic of Armenia's chairmanship of the Coordination Council, and the chairmanship of the Council passed to the Republic of Uzbekistan.
An awards ceremony was also held during the session. Ashot Movsisyan was awarded a Certificate of Honor from the CIS Executive Committee, and Varazdat Hayrapetyan, Deputy Head of Department and Secretary of the Coordination Council, received a commendation from the CIS Secretary General. At the same time, on behalf of Eduard Hakobyan, Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee, members of the Coordination Council were presented with medals "For Cooperation and Interaction" for their contribution to the development of effective cooperation within the Council.
