On September 29, RA Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan visited the Artashat grape procurement center of Proshyan Brandy Factory LLC to monitor the procurement process and discuss existing issues at the company. The minister was accompanied by Deputy Minister Arman Khojoyan, the ministry's press service reported.
Grape procurement at the company is in an active phase. Currently, approximately 13,000 tons of grapes have been purchased from all company branches, and more than 32,000 tons are planned for the season. Grapes are purchased at an average price of 140 drams per kg. The average daily volume of grape purchases is approximately 1,500 tons.
During the inspection, the minister familiarized himself with the procurement process and noted that it is being carried out in a normal and orderly manner.
The Proshyan Brandy Factory is one of the largest and leading producers of alcoholic beverages in Armenia. It was founded in 1980 and registered in its current form in 1995. The factory produces a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Its flagship brands include Mane and Proshyan cognacs, aged from 3 to 30 years, including in black Karabakh oak barrels, as well as Armenian Fortress, Sharaz, and Charents.
