ArmInfo. The Armenian government will allocate 4.069 billion drams for the modernization of a number of interstate roads, technical inspection, and the procurement of services to address this issue. The decision to this effect was made at the Cabinet meeting on October 1.

According to RA Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure David Khudatyan, the funds are planned to be used to repair 32.7 km of roads, 3.5 km of which are interstate roads, 9.6 km are national roads, and 19 km are community roads. Most of the community roads concern programs leading to schools in the country.

RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan noted in this regard that it is necessary to use all available resources for road construction, especially given the significant number of vehicles The growth of which could lead to traffic jams on interstate and national roads. To avoid such a development, it is crucial to create alternative roads. The Prime Minister particularly highlighted the 66.9-kilometer road construction project in the Tavush region, which is planned for completion by the end of 2028. For the first time, this road will be completely paved.

This will create high-quality roads in the republic in several directions, including towards the cities of Berd and Chambarak, which have enormous untapped potential in a peaceful environment. Pashinyan expressed confidence that, thanks to such investments, these regions are expected to see significant investment and tourism activity.
