Armenia`s Deputy Foreign Minister discussed energy security and unblocking regional communications with a Pacific Council delegation.

ArmInfo. On October 2, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (MFA) of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan received a delegation from the Pacific Council organization. Led by the organization's President and CEO, former US Ambassador to the Republic, Kristina Kvien.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Armenia, during the meeting, the Deputy Minister presented current trends in the development of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Armenia and the United States, the Armenian government's efforts to increase the country's investment attractiveness and diversify economic ties, and outlined the opportunities opening up thanks to infrastructure projects, the implementation of which became possible as a result of the establishment of peace in the region.

According to the source, the meeting also addressed, in a question-and-answer format, issues of unblocking regional communications, energy security, the efficient use of natural resources, and a number of other topics of mutual interest.

As a reminder, the Pacific Council on International Policy engages citizens, business leaders, and experts from the US West Coast in the discussion and formation of the global agenda, linking California's local experience with international processes. The organization serves as an independent, nonprofit platform for dialogue, helping residents and leaders in the region understand the connections between local actions and global trends. Christina Kvien serves as President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Pacific Council on International Policy. She assumed the leadership of the nonprofit on March 1, 2026, succeeding Dr. Jerrold Green, who led the organization for the past 17 years. Prior to assuming this position, Christina Kvien officially completed her diplomatic mission to Armenia and retired from the U.S. State Department, concluding a career of more than 30 years in public service.
