Yerevan will host the International Trade and Investment Forum with the participation of 30 countries

ArmInfo.  More than 250 delegates from more than 30 countries will take part in the International Trade and Investment Forum, which will be held from October 7 to 9, 2019 in Yerevan. The EU Delegation to Armenia reported this.

"Enterprises from various regions of Armenia engaged in the production of food and beverage products, including dried fruits, wine, brandy, and herbal teas, will have the opportunity to meet with interested buyers and distributors from Europe and other countries.

The European Union, through our partner, the International Trade Centre (ITC), is co-financing the forum as part of its long-standing support for Armenian businesses in accessing new markets and diversifying trade markets," the EU stated.

It should be noted that on September 24, the Council of the European Union officially approved a regulation on temporary trade liberalization measures for Armenian products. The purpose of the measures is to support the Armenian economy following trade restrictions imposed by Russia. This regulation will abolish customs duties on a wide range of Armenian products imported to the EU, including certain agricultural goods. The measures will be valid for two years from the date of entry into force of the regulation. Under the preferential regime, approximately 80% of Armenia's exports to the EU will be subject to liberalization.
