According to him, this number of tourists is approximately 27% higher than in September of the previous year and approximately 28% higher than in August 2026. "This is the highest monthly figure in the first nine months of this year," emphasized Gevork Papoyan.
He added that a total of 1,757,349 tourists visited Armenia from January to September 2026.
As a reminder, the RA Tourism Committee previously recorded 1,467,333 tourist visits to Armenia from January to August 2026. In August 2026, the republic received 227,026 tourists. In January - August 2026, the total tourist flow amounted to 1,467,333 people (which is approximately 2.5% lower compared to the same period in 2025). Russia still holds the leading position among the countries from which tourist trips are made, accounting for about 40% of the total number of visits, Georgia is in second place - 14%, and Iran is in third place - 8%.
