
ArmInfo. Rosatom and representatives of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant have confirmed the operational safety of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant until 2031. This was reported by TASS, citing Rosatom.
The fifth meeting of the Joint Coordination Committee was held in Yerevan (Republic of Armenia) with the participation of representatives of the Republic of Armenia, the Rosatom State Corporation, and its enterprises on the issue of the repeated extension of the operational life of Unit 2 of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant. <:> The meeting participants discussed the progress of the project, as well as the results of work carried out in 2024-2026 by Russian and Armenian specialists. It was noted that a number of buildings and structures with a total area of 15,890 square meters were inspected. "Documents confirming the safe operation of the reactor facility until 2031 have been developed and approved," the statement reads.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed on an implementation plan for 2027-2030.
According to Evgeny Salkov, General Director of Rosatom Service JSC, a series of improvements to key systems at the Armenian NPP are planned for 2027 to ensure its continued effective operation until 2036.
