Badalyan: Omani business are showing interest in Armenian agricultural products

ArmInfo. As part of efforts to diversify Armenia's foreign trade and thanks to the efforts of the Armenian Embassy in Oman, cooperation has been established between a number of Armenian and Omani companies. This was reported by Ani Badalyan, Press Secretary of the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In this regard, she recalled that the official opening of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Oman took place in March 2026, and prior to the opening, trade turnover between the two countries was very low.

"As a result of cooperation, apricots, cherries, peaches, nectarines, and strawberries were exported from Armenia to Oman during 2026, particularly from July to September. Thus, Armenian agricultural products entered the Omani market for the first time, albeit in small experimental batches. Fruits imported from Armenia were sold in Lulu, Oman's largest hypermarket chain, as well as in the Suhol Al-Fayha supermarket chain, part of the KV Group," Badalyan wrote on the Foreign Ministry's official Facebook page.

She added that the aforementioned companies are also interested in other Armenian products, and negotiations are planned for the near future. She added that work is underway to increase volumes, expand the product range, and establish long-term cooperation.

"The first results in this direction are already in place: the Armenian companies Funfruit and Rockberry have signed contracts with the KV Group for the supply of even larger quantities of Armenian fruits and berries." "There are also plans to expand the fruit selection by importing grapes, apples, and other products produced in the Republic of Armenia," Badalyan wrote.

She also noted that the KV Group's leadership delegation had already visited Armenia twice, in July and October 2026, with the assistance of the Armenian Embassy. During the visits, meetings were held with representatives of Armenian government agencies and the private sector. During the second visit, the delegation participated in the International Trade and Investment Forum held in Yerevan.

"Active work is underway to expand the range of products exported by Armenia to Oman. It should be noted that the growing momentum of exports to Oman is also accompanied by trends toward expanding exports to the UAE," Badalyan concluded. -
