To recall, earlier the Chairman of the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia David Ananyan informed that until mid-March 2020 the demand for the new generation of cash registers in Armenia will be fully satisfied. According to him, in 2018, the country's government decided to liberalize the cash register market, which means creating business opportunities to import cash registers.
Then 13 entities contacted the state non-profit organization "Office for the implementation of cash registers" declaring their intention to begin supplying new generation of devices.
However, subsequently the number of entities was reduced to two. Nevertheless, they managed to import a new batch of registers, for which the testing phase is currently being completed, and their sale will begin in the near future. In total, 11 thousand applications for the latest generation devices were received. "Suppliers assured us that by the end of February all demand will be satisfied, however we approached pragmatically, believing that the problem will be resolved by mid-March," the head of the SRC noted. He also said that currently there are 67 thousand cash registers in circulation, of which 50 thousand are of the new generation, and 17 thousand of the old.
