Vahan Kerobyan: Armenian economy will generate 100 billion drams more  in tax revenues this year than last year

ArmInfo. The Armenian economy will generate 100 billion drams more in tax revenues this year than last year. A similar opinion was expressed by the acting Minister of  Economy Vahan Kerobyan.

In this regard, he stressed that such achievements will be possible  without accumulating debts to business.  Moreover, according to him,  the state will continue the process of returning debts to economic  entities. In this context, he recalled that the current government of  Armenia came to power, having inherited about 275 billion drams of  debt burden on business. "Today, almost nothing is left of this  debt," he said.

At the same time, Kerobyan stressed that the economic model,  operating until 2018 in Armenia, has prepared the only status for  business - a hostage of the state. "We have consistently eliminated  those tax regulations that force businesses to work in the shadows,  thereby increasing the transparency of the business environment in  the country," he said. However, Kerobyan noted that a lot of work in  this direction has yet to be implemented.

In this regard, the acting Minister stressed that the government does  not intend to increase the tax burden on businesses, but the latter  must work in the legal field.  Despite criticism, Kerobyan once again  announced numerous investment projects worth several hundred million  dollars. In particular, he spoke about the recent opening of  production in Armenia for the manufacture of medical equipment. The  total cost of this project was $ 40 million. Minister presented 2  projects related to the creation of a ski resort, where $ 360 million  will be allocated.  Major investment projects, according to Kerobyan,  are being implemented in the energy, construction and agricultural  fields. In particular, he said that a $ 174 million project was  recently launched to build a new solar station. In addition, the  acting Minister added that interest in construction has increased  significantly.

Ren Shin Company is investing about $ 100 million in the construction  of a residential complex on Teryan Street in Yerevan, a large  investment construction project will be carried out in the  administrative district of Davidashen. At the same time, Kerobyan  noted that domestic investments are intensively going on in the  country.  He stressed that the Ministry is currently working on a new  methodology for accounting for foreign investments, since the  existing statistics are chaotic and do not reflect the real  investment situation.
