Further decline in Armenia;s industry 

ArmInfo.  In the industrial sector of Armenia, production volumes decreased by 9.8% per annum in January-July 2025 (against 15.7% growth a year ago), amounting to 1.5  trillion drams ($3.8 billion). But in July alone, the industrial  sector demonstrated growth of 7.4% - up to 244 billion drams ($635.3  million). This is evidenced by the data of the RA Statistical  Committee.

The deterioration in the annual dynamics of the industrial sector is  due to the ongoing decline in the mining industry and the  manufacturing industry, which began to sag.

In particular, the mining sector lingered in decline with a slowdown  in annual rates from 8.6% to 1%, with a volume of 265 billion drams.  At the same time, in July alone, the volumes of the mining sector  decreased by 4% - to 43.2 billion drams.

The manufacturing industry worsened the annual dynamics from 23.6%  growth to 16.1% decline, providing a volume of 1 trillion drams. But  in just one month, production reached 6.5% growth, amounting to 164.3  billion drams.

Moreover, the most significant decline was in the dominant segment -  the production of basic metals - by 71.6%. In addition, volumes in  the jewelry industry significantly decreased - by 62.5%, as well as  the production of leather goods - by 23.9%, other non-metallic  products - by 15.8%.

At the same time, high growth rates were demonstrated by the  production volumes of coke and oil refineries - by 2.7 times,  computers, optical and electrical equipment - by 64.2%, chemical  industry - by 62.5%, cigarettes - by 61.8%.

In the manufacturing industry, traditionally, food products (319  billion drams), cigarettes (168 billion), beverage production (107.2  billion), basic metals (103.4 billion), other non-metallic products  (86.6 billion drams) are the leaders in terms of production volumes.

According to statistics, the supply of electricity, gas, steam and  air conditioning in January-July 2025 accelerated in growth from 13%  to 14.1% year-on-year, amounting to 214.5 billion drams, with an  increase in July of 32.9% - to 33.5 billion drams.

Moreover, the generation, transmission and distribution of  electricity during the reporting period increased by 16.6% per annum,  and gas production, distribution of gaseous fuel through gas supply  systems - by 3.2%.

Revenues from water supply, waste treatment and processing and  obtaining secondary raw materials during the reporting period slowed  in annual growth from 5.6% to 1%, amounting to 18.1 billion drams. In  July alone, this figure increased by 8.1% - to 2.9 billion drams.  Moreover, the upward annual dynamics in this segment was mainly due  to an increase of 3.6% in revenues from the collection and treatment  of wastewater.

The average settlement exchange rate of the dram against the US  dollar in January- July 2025 was 390.27 drams / $ 1, and in July -  384.07 drams / $ 1.
