King Felipe VI of Spain meets with head of RA Tourism Committee

ArmInfo.  An official reception with King Felipe VI of Spain was held as part of the FITUR  2026 international tourism exhibition.

According to the press service of the Tourism Committee, His Majesty  also met with Lusine Gevorgyan, head of the Armenian Tourism  Authority, during which they discussed opportunities for developing  Armenian-Spanish tourism relations.

FITUR 2026 is a major international tourism exhibition taking place  from January 21 to 26 in Madrid.

The exhibition brought together experts, industry leaders, and even  government officials to discuss new trends and market opportunities,  as well as innovative travel solutions. More than 9,000 exhibitors  and over 150,000 visitors, including industry specialists, are  expected to participate.

According to the RA Statistics Committee, from January to September  2025, Armenia welcomed 7,970 tourists from Spain, a 21.6% increase  from the previous year. Spanish tourists account for only 0.5%.  As a  reminder, according to the Tourism Committee, a total of 2.26 million  tourists visited Armenia in 2025, with an annual increase of 2.7%.
