ArmInfo. Our exports are showing steady growth without re- exporting gold, platinum, and other products. Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan stated this during a press conference on February 6.
First, he compared export figures recorded in 2021, when shipments amounted to $2.6 billion, with those in 2025 exceeding $4.4 billion. Comparing exports with last year's volumes, Papoyan noted that growth was recorded at approximately 10%, or approximately $400 million. "We're not talking about televisions, smartwatches, cars, or gold, which are not produced in Armenia, but rather about goods of Armenian origin, manufactured exclusively in Armenian factories," the Minister emphasized. At the same time, he enthusiastically pointed to the growing share of Armenian exports to European Union countries. While the percentage stood at 4.7% in 2024, by the end of 2025, the figure is 7.9%. "That is, on the one hand, we have increased supplies to the EU, but on the other, re-exports have been eliminated," the minister said. As an example, Papoyan noted that the Yerevan Foil Rolling Plant "Armenal" (a subsidiary of Russia's "Rusal") increased its supplies to EU countries by 31%.
Meanwhile, it should be noted that, according to the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, Armenia's export volume in 2025 amounted to $8.4 billion, which is 36.1% lower than the 2024 figure. Export volume to EU countries, meanwhile, increased by 9% to $666.8 million.
