ArmInfo. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stated that the road part of the "Trump Route" is 90% complete, and the railway is 70%.
The Azerbaijani presidential press service told reporters that he made this statement at a meeting of the heads of government of the Organization of Turkic States, according to European Pravda.
Aliyev expressed hope that the project will be fully implemented in the near future. "Regarding the implementation of the Zangezur Corridor, the road is almost 90% complete, and the railway is approximately 70%. I hope that this project will be fully implemented in the near future," he noted.
Aliyev also added that construction of the Kars-Nakhchivan railway has begun in Turkey. "Thus, cooperation and the coordinated implementation of these projects will open a new important international corridor," he said.
The declaration establishing the "Trump Route" was signed by the leaders of Armenia, the United States, and Azerbaijan on August 8, 2025, during a meeting at the White House. This transport corridor will pass through Armenia's Syunik Province. Although Armenia will retain sovereignty over its territory, the route will be managed by a private American company.
The "Trump Route" (TRIPP) is designed to create a transport link between the mainland of Azerbaijan and its exclave, the Nakhchivan Autonomous Region, through Armenia, ensuring the effectiveness of the cross- border "middle corridor."
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan previously stated that the practical phase of the transit corridor project, including the start of construction, is scheduled for 2026.
