ArmInfo.Armenia will establish a unified database of individuals and entities providing tourism services, following a decision adopted at the government session on August 13.
The explanatory note states that the initiative is designed to enhance public administration efficiency within the tourism sector, ensure data integrity, and digitize regulatory processes. To fully implement the notification system for tourism service providers introduced by a government decree on February 12, 2026, regulations governing a unified database must be approved to centralize the collection, storage, and processing of sector-related information. Currently, data regarding tourism service providers is scattered across various sources without a centralized platform, complicating monitoring, analysis, policy development, and inter-agency data sharing.
This project proposes creating a unified database of tourism service providers, defining procedures for its management, use, collection, storage, and data protection, and ensuring data compatibility with other government information systems based on the "single request" principle.
The implementation of the database will facilitate the effective exchange of information between government agencies, simplify administrative work and reduce bureaucratic processes, develop statistical and analytical capabilities in the tourism sector, and increase transparency and oversight in the sector.
