ArmInfo. On August 21, RA Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan met with employers to discuss procedures for integrating employees earning under 200,000 drams into the universal health insurance system.
According to the Ministry of Health, the preliminary draft—set to begin in 2027—requires employees with monthly incomes under AMD 200,000 to pay a 2,000 dram monthly insurance premium. The state and the employer will subsidize the remaining costs, contributing 4,400 drams each. This phased structure is designed to limit the financial burden on lower-income citizens as they enter the universal insurance system.
During the meeting, company representatives raised numerous questions and provided feedback. Emphasizing the value of expert input, Minister Avanesyan noted that these consultations are intentionally held during the draft stage to incorporate stakeholder suggestions. She also praised specialists for their extensive, skillful work in developing the health insurance framework.
The Ministry announced that similar online and in-person consultations will continue at every stage leading up to the full implementation of the health insurance system.
