ArmInfo. As part of Armenian-Austrian cooperation, 64 Flekvieh breeding cattle have arrived in Armenia.

The animals were purchased as part of the "Cattle Breeding Development Program in Armenia for 2025-2029," implemented by the RA Ministry of Economy. Compensation for the purchase of the animals is provided in the amount of approximately 35 million drams.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Economy, the initiative is the result of Armenian-Austrian cooperation under the "Innovative Livestock Production: Herd Reproduction, Breeding, and Markets" (INLIMA) program. The cooperation was based on the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the RA Ministry of Economy and the NGO "Strategic Development Agency." and Cattle Breeders Austria (an Austrian organization promoting the export of breeding cattle and the dissemination of Austrian experience in breeding and livestock production).

INLIMA (Innovative Livestock Management: Animal Migration, Breeding & Markets) is a livestock development program in Armenia, scheduled for the period from September 2025 to April 2029. It is being implemented by the Strategic Development Agency (SDA) with financial support from the Austrian Development Agency (ADA). The program aims to improve livestock breeding and reproductive technologies, enhance pasture and transhumance management, and increase the competitiveness of the dairy and meat industries. ADA funding amounts to €2.1 million.
