ArmInfo. Armenian companies will receive benefits when exporting services to the United Arab Emirates market. The National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia ratified the agreement "On Trade in Services and Investments" between the two countries at its plenary session on October 28.
As RA Minister of Economy Gevork Papoyan noted in his speech, the document was signed on February 5, 2026, in Abu Dhabi by him and UAE Minister of Foreign Trade Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi. The document was signed as part of an agreement between the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, on the one hand, and the UAE, on the other. The agreement is aimed at liberalizing trade in services and investment, mutually eliminating barriers, and stimulating economic partnership. Armenian companies will gain access and benefits to the UAE market in 122 service sectors (previously, only 32 were available). These include the IT sector, telecommunications, healthcare, scientific and technical consulting, equipment repair, cartography, and postal services. Armenia, for its part, expanded access obligations for Emirati companies from 102 to 127 sectors. The parties will also encourage and protect investments for the launch of new joint business projects.
Papoyan noted that in the first eight months of this year, export volumes of Armenian products to the UAE increased by 48%. In particular, shipments of strawberries and blackberries increased by 3.7 times, apricots, cherries, and sweet cherries by 2.6 times, and growth was also observed for other products.
Overall, as the minister noted, export volumes to India increased by 62% (from $52 million to $86 million), to the EU by 54% (from $454 million to $700 million), to the US by 8%, and to China by 78% (from $431 million to $760 million).
